Learn More About Dr. Young's Clinical & Optical

Since 2003, Dr. Young has been serving the eye care needs of northeast Arkansas and southeast Missouri. Dr. Young completed undergraduate work at Harding University and completed optometry school at Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. In 2007 our current facility was opened. Since that time we have enjoyed serving the surrounding area.

We are an optometry office however, there tends to be a misconception about what "Optometry" is. Most people think about glasses and contacts when thinking about optometry, but there is so much more. Optometrists are primary eye care providers. Much like a family practice doctor is a primary healthcare provider. For example, if you have a problem with your knee you may go to your family doctor, who may treat the condition or may send you to an orthopedic doctor. Optometry works much the same way. Optometrists treat and monitor all eye diseases and conditions. In most states, optometrists can prescribe both topical and/or oral medications to treat eye and eye related conditions, and in some states, perform minor surgical procedures.
